Tucson Atheists Membership Dues

Optional Membership Dues

Each regular member of Tucson Atheists is encouraged to contribute $15 a year toward the expenses of maintaining and promoting our website, our meetup.com group, and other possible minor expenses. These two Internet expenses costs our group roughly $260 per year. No compensation is offered to those who maintain meetup.com and tucsonatheist.org. We recognize that not all members attend our meetings regularly, and that some are more dedicated and able to promote the principals of atheism than others.

We touch hundreds of people through our website every month and more than six thousand in 2007. Our website, http://www.tucsonatheist.org, this site, promotes our ideas and is a significant contributor to the promulgation of our motto: "We endorse reason over superstition, natural over supernatural, secular over sectarian, science over blind faith."

Our meetup.com group, http://atheists.meetup.com/69, offers a number of membership communication services and exposes our group to those looking for kindred spirits in our Tucson community. Many people who visit our meetings discover our existence through Tucson Atheists Meetup.

Although we identify those who contribute as regular members, membership dues are optional. Failure to pay dues does not compromise any person's welcome or full participation in our group in any way whatsoever. It simply means that those who contribute want to help pay for the costs of maintaining and promoting Tucson Atheists. It further means that they believe the benefits they receive from their participation are worth a minimum of $15 per year.
